Set in the last quarter of the 12th Century, this is the first part of the three-book Sir Guillaume Cadeil Chronicles, which follow the Templar Knight as he leaves London for Jerusalem. There, he becomes involved in several major battles leading up to the eventual fall of Jerusalem to Saladin. On the way, he is captures and spends time in Damascus where he learns about Islamic culture and medicine; skills that will stand him in good stead throughout his life. The other books in the trilogy are The Templars’ Lost Treasure and The Lion and the Fox, which take us up to AD 1200. From there, Sir Guillaume becomes a leading character in the nine-book Pitt Family Saga.
